Man in Collision Checks Himself Out of Hospital

Police responded to a report of a road traffic collision that took place at 8.29pm on Monday evening on Cox's Hill Road in Pembroke. It appears that a 59  year old Smith's man was traveling west on a motorcycle, when he collided with a van that was parked in the westbound carriageway.

The Smith's man was then taken to the hospital with head injuries. The 59 year old man later that evening signed a release form and checked out of the hospital. Inquiries into the matter are ongoing.

Police Seeking Cinamin Lovell Grant [Arrested]

The Bermuda Police Service is seeking assistance in locating 22 year old Cinamin Lovell Grant. A warrant has been issued for her arrest after she failed to appear in court to answer a charge of threatening behaviour.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is encouraged to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity.

Traffic Advisory: Palmetto Road Area

The motoring public is advised that due to downed utility poles and wires in the Palmetto Road‎ Devonshire area, traffic diversions are in place.

In addition, travel is not recommended along Dutton Avenue, Pembroke at this time.

Motorists are asked to avoid these areas if possible until the situation can be rectified.

Traffic Advisory: Detour Due to Roadwork on St. David’s Road

The motoring public is advised that there will be a partial road closure starting on Friday 14th February along St. David’s Road in St. George’s near the former Number 2 gate intersection that leads to Southside Road.

The partial closure is to take place on a section of St David’s Road so that trenching can be carried out. It is anticipated that the roadwork will be completed on Friday 28th February.

Residents Invited to Help With Photographic Police Tribute

In October the Bermuda Police Service will celebrate 135 years of policing during Police Week 2014, with several community related events scheduled.

In tribute to the many police officers that have been involved in various aspects of Bermuda life while on duty and in their own personal time, residents are encouraged to submit any photos they may have showing positive police community interaction over the years.

Witness Appeal: Reported Assault on Bus Driver

Around 11:20am on Monday, February 10th police responded to a reported assault onboard a bus along South Road in Southampton near the junction with Lighthouse Road.

It appears that a female passenger boarded the bus in that area and assaulted the female bus driver after a verbal exchange.

Confirmed Firearm Incident in Southampton: No Reported Injuries

Around 11:50pm on Friday, February 7th police officers responded to reported gunshots in the Horseshoe Road, Southampton area.

Forensic evidence collected from the scene confirmed that a firearm was discharged in that area; however there were no reported injuries.

Traffic Diversion Due to Downed Power Line [Updated]

Traffic is currently being diverted from the Middle Road, Montpelier Road Devonshire area due to a downed power line. BELCO has been notified; however motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible until the situation can be rectified.

Update: The downed power line in the Middle Road, Montpelier Road Devonshire area reported around 8am Friday, February 7th has since been rectified.
