I am sure that most people have read in the news recently about the senior Citizen who was victimized by unscrupulous members of the community. Below are some simple tips to assist our seniors with their Safety.
The Bermuda Police Service would like to remind the public that it is an offence to distribute any child abusive images, this includes but not limited to sexual images of anyone under the age of 16.
On Monday December 23rd at 6:20pm police attended a residence on Leacraft Hill Road in Sandys. It appears that two males entered a dwelling and made demands of “specific items”, as a result of their aggressive demands, the victim a 84 year old man began to scream for help.
At 1:30pm on Sunday, police responded to a report of a 41 year old man who was bitten in what appears to be an unprovoked attack by a black pit-bull terrier outside of a residence on Mission Lane in Pembroke.
At 7:16pm on Saturday evening police responded to a report of a two vehicle collision between a car and a motorcycle that occurred at the junction of Montpelier Road and Middle Road in Devonshire. As a result, a 30 year old Smith’s man was taken to the hospital with

Sadly, we also typically see increases in road traffic collisions and anti-social behaviour associated with alcohol. As a result the Bermuda Police Service encourages members of the public to enjoy themselves responsibly.
Around 4:50am on Wednesday, December 18th first responders attended a reported single vehicle collision on Middle Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Bridge Lane.
It appears that a car was being driven along Middle Road when it collided with a wall in the vicinity of Somerset Bridge.
Over the weekend, police officers arrested six people on suspicion of impaired driving as the Selective Traffic Enforcement Programme (STEP) continues.
Officers also arrested 12 people for outstanding warrants and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 66 year old American Steve Cummings and extends condolences to his family & friends.
Around 12:30am on Wednesday, December 11th police and Bermuda Radio received a report that the Florida resident’s vessel required assistance in the waters off the North Shore in the area of Black Watch Pass.
The police Marine Unit responded and conducted an overnight search of that maritime area for the vessel; however tragically a debris field was subsequently established.
Inter-Services Press Release - Today the Bermuda Police Service in partnership with The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service, The Bermuda Regiment and the Department of Corrections presented the Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Trust with a cheque for $20,480.00 to benefit the “Why it Matters” campaign.
This announcement is made following the Inter-Service Golf Tournament held on Friday, October 25th, 2013, which had the charitable aim of supporting the redevelopment of the hospital.
