Attempted Handbag Snatch - Around 6:15pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of an attempted handbag snatch. It appears that the victim, a 41 year old Pembroke woman, was walking along Parliament Street in Pembroke near the junction with Church Street around 5:25pm that day when she was accosted by an unknown man. The suspect attempted to take the Pembroke woman’s purse but fled on foot empty handed after she refused to let go of her handbag and male members of the public in the area came to her assistance. The victim suffered a minor injury to her finger as a result.
Around 5:35pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of an attempted handbag snatch. It appears that the victim, a 29 year old Pembroke woman, was walking along Church Street in Pembroke near the junction with Parliament Street around 5:10pm that day when she was accosted by an unknown man. The suspect attempted to take the Pembroke woman’s purse but fled on foot empty handed after she refused to let go of her handbag. The 29 year old Pembroke woman was not injured.
A 25 year old St. George’s man was subsequently arrested in connection with both incidents and inquiries are ongoing by the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit.
Injury RTC
Around 11:55pm on Tuesday, Police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Somerset Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Sound View Road. It appears that a car was traveling along Somerset Road when the driver, a 33 year old Sandys parish man, lost control and collided with a wall. The driver was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening at this time. The passenger in the vehicle, a 37 year old Sandys parish man, was not injured. The car was extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Around 5:30pm on Tuesday, Police and first responders attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Trimingham Road in Paget near the junction with Trimingham Hill involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the vehicles were traveling along Trimingham Road when they collided. The motorcycle rider, a 48 year old Paget man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. He was subsequently released. The driver of the car, a 28 year old Southampton woman, was not injured. The car received extensive front end damage while the motorcycle received moderate damage. |
