Witness Appeal Regarding Tuesday Night’s Firearm Incident

The investigation regarding a confirmed firearm incident that occurred around 10:40pm Tuesday, October 2nd in the Friswells Road, North Terrace Pembroke area continues.

Although several shots were fired, there were no reported injuries and the scene has been processed by the relevant police personnel.

However, the gunfire did cause damage to a car as well as some property damage.

Earlier Tuesday night members of the Bermuda Police Service Community Action Team conducted a meeting in the neighbourhood where citizens expressed their concerns over recent anti-social behaviour and discussed ways to address it.

In the next few days Community Action Team officers will return to follow up with area residents regarding this confirmed firearm incident as well as their anti-social behaviour concerns – while working with area MPs to identify long term solutions.

Detectives are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area – particularly anyone that saw two individuals on a motorcycle – around the time the shooting took place. Any information you can give is important to us, no matter how insignificant it may seem to you.

Anyone who may have any information on the planning of the shooting, who may have seen the incident or has any information on the actions of the offenders afterward is urged to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.

All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
